The Awakened Path Part 4 – Positive Reflection Of The Week

Part 4: The Dark Side Of People Pleasing & Be Still

THE DARK SIDE OF PEOPLE PLEASING

Do you know a people pleaser? Are you one?

Master manipulators are another name for people-pleasers. And at some point in our lives, we have all been guilty of this trait. People pleasers are often motivated by a fear of rejection or a desire for approval, and they may struggle to set boundaries or prioritize their own needs. It’s important to recognize this behaviour in ourselves and others and work towards building healthier communication and relationships.

When they are unable to fulfil their promises, people pleasers may also be to blame for feeling a great deal of regret, rage, and frustration.

As a people-pleaser, you also put yourself in a position to undervalue yourself, cross your own boundaries, and act unauthentically. This can lead to a lack of self-respect and confidence, as well as difficulty expressing your true thoughts and feelings. It is important for people-pleasers to learn how to prioritize their own needs and communicate assertively in order to establish healthier relationships with others.

Your sovereignty is more important than appeasing the people you want, so assert your authority and have the guts to say no! When you step into your power and become more authentic, your nervous system trusts you.

BE STILL

There is a lot to find in stillness. Let your quiet inner voice rise by quieting the noise around and inside you. In stillness, you can connect with your thoughts and emotions on a deeper level. It allows you to reflect and gain clarity on what truly matters in your life.

In our fast-paced world, finding stillness can be a challenge. We are constantly bombarded with distractions and stimuli that pull us away from the present moment.

However, making the effort to cultivate stillness in our daily lives can have numerous benefits for our mental and emotional well-being. It can help us to reduce stress, increase focus, and improve our relationships with others. So, how can we begin to incorporate stillness into our busy lives?

Furthermore, stillness provides an opportunity to cultivate a sense of mindfulness and awareness in the present moment. By tuning out distractions and focusing on your breath or surroundings, you can become more grounded and centred. This can lead to increased feelings of peace, contentment, and overall well-being. Additionally, practising stillness can help reduce stress and anxiety, as it allows you to step back from the chaos of daily life and find a sense of calm. Go for a quiet walk in nature, sit in the garden, be STILL, and focus on your breath, or try a meditation practice to incorporate stillness into your daily routine. By regularly practising stillness, you may find that you are better able to manage difficult emotions and maintain a greater sense of balance in your life.

Tranquillity is a soul superpower that helps you access and unlock your inner peace and resilience. Stillness has a lot of wisdom to share! But it cannot share if there is too much noise!

I hope you have enjoyed these Insights and will continue to practice them throughout the year. I’d love to know which of them really stood out for you!
