How To Get Rid Of Negative Energy (Part 4) – Positive Reflection Of The Week

Moving Energy: Embrace the Power of Movement

MOVEMENT-BASED TECHNIQUES

Movement is an excellent (and simple) way to move energy and release stagnant, negative energy. Movement can be subtle or aggressive. Here are some examples of Movement Based Techniques that can be easily incorporated into your daily life:

1. Mountain Pose: Mountain pose in yoga may appear to be a non-movement activity. The act of assuming and holding the pose, on the other hand, includes subtle but significant movement. You don’t just stand; you stand with purpose.

2. Yin Yoga: In yin yoga, the emphasis is on maintaining passive poses for extended periods of time—for novices, this means one to five minutes. These extended poses physically address our deeper anatomy in addition to our larger, more visible anatomy. Long poses, especially those that open up the hips deeply, also affect the emotional body, facilitating the release of deeply buried pent-up energy. If this is something you have never done before, take it slowly and be ready for both a physical and emotional experience.

3. Sound: Sound is a simple way to move energy because it raises vibration, creates space, and breaks up stagnant energy. While this technique is most commonly used in physical spaces or when performing energy work on others, it can also be used on yourself. Remember that intent is important. Gongs and Singing bowls, Sound baths, are popular examples of traditional sound healing techniques.

4. Walking: The simple act of walking, when done with intention, is also a wonderful practise. Walking is especially effective for me when my mental energy body is clogged. That “all up in my head” feeling can occur after a long period of writing or planning, listening to a thought-provoking lecture, studying or reading, or even during an intense conversation.

5. Dancing: Dancing is an excellent natural energy mover. There are various types of dancing, as well as various reasons and locations for dancing. Learning to trust your body and its wisdom takes practise, but it is well worth it and simple once you get the hang of it. You can move your body to see how different motions and rhythms feel. The more you practise, the more natural it will become. Paying attention during your dancing and reflecting on the experience allows you to learn about what was going on so that you can apply that experience and knowledge in the future.
