TNR Trust - Help Us Ban The Illegal Selling Of Stolen Dogs In Kenya
In Kenya, dogs are not only kept out in the sun all day at Ruaka Roundabout (and other locations) by sellers, SOME of these dogs have been stolen from their loving families. Like Bella that was stolen a few weeks ago, from her owners and found at the roundabout 5 days later. Some owners are not as fortunate and are unable to check the roundabout every day. These dogs are unknowingly sold to a new family that doesn’t understand the importance of buying a dog with proper paperwork to ensure the dog was not stolen in the first place.

In Kenya, there has been a rise in dog theft cases, and people end up finding their dogs at this roundabout. The sellers are ruthless, stealing dogs from different parts of the town and selling them.

Imagine your family pet getting stolen from you, they’re not provided with any water or food the whole day.

Please educate those you know about buying a dog. If they choose to buy a dog from a seller, they should visit the person’s home and see where the dog was raised. Is the mother provided with love and care? Is the mother dog vaccinated from parvo? Does she have room to stretch her legs, or is she shoved in a kennel? Buying a dog from a mother that was not properly bred or taken care of, can cause expensive complications further down the road. It’s best to adopt or chose an East African Kennel Club registered breeder.
