Interview with one of the performing artists at the Fashion & Lifestyle 5th Edition – Cara Feral A Talented Kenyan Singer

Fashion & Lifestyle 5th Edition 2018

Tell us about your journey as a Kenyan singer & what inspired you to become a singer?

Singing is and has been a part of me ever since my childhood days. I knew then that I wanted to become a great singer and performer. I have been following and working to make that dream a reality with the support of my family, close friends and people who believe in my potential which is making a significant difference in my career. The Kenyan scene has been a tough nut to crack but the future looks promising and Kenyans will be singing along to my songs soon.

You performed live at the Fashion & Lifestyle 5th Edition and got the crowd singing ‘over & over again’, What is the song about and when is the video to be released ?

That was my first time attending a fashion show and it was amazing to perform there thanks to the event organizers who reached out to me to perform. It was also my first time performing the song and it was breathtaking having the crowd sing along to it, such moments make me realize I am closer to living my childhood dream. “Over and Over” has been produced by Zj Heno & Shamir on the Promises Riddim recently premiered on HomeBoyz Radio last week. The song is special to me because it’s a dedication to someone I treasure. So far the response has been overwhelming from far & wide and I am currently set to shoot the video which will be out this October.

There are a lot of talented singers within Kenya, what do you think of the future of the Kenyan music industry?

The future of the Kenyan music industry looks promising, there’s too much talent bubbling and the world is following keenly with interest. Kenyan artists are crossing the borders with their music, representing our country at the international level competing for honors with musicians from other countries. The world is slowly accepting the uniqueness and diversity of the Kenyan music scene.

What message would you like to convey to all your fans who have been following your music? What should they be expecting with the songs and the music videos that are going to be released soon?

My fans know I work round the clock to give them good music. Their loyalty and support keeps me going harder in what I pursue to give them what they deserve; the best. I’m currently working on an EP produced by some of the best Kenyan producers which will be out early next year. I will also have a collaboration with a surprise artist since everyone has been asking when and if I will be collaborating with other artists. I have some video releases lined up and will be premiering on my YouTube channel CaraFeralVEVO. I’ve been booked to perform at Reggae On The Nile III in Uganda this November, more dates of where I’ll be performing will follow shortly. Cara Feral merchandise will be out soon, more details and frequent updates will be shared on my social media pages @caraferal for Twitter & IG and Cara Feral for FB.
