Have you ever met someone and immediately, after a few minutes of interacting with them, felt totally drained? Well, here are three energy tools to help you understand what you can do to avoid people pulling on your energy.

You may have heard some people say, “He/She is an energy vampire”, or “So and So feeds off my energy”. Although not everyone experiences this phenomenon, many can relate to feeling sucked into another person’s vortex.

Sometimes, it is out of no choice. Maybe a friend has had a breakup and needs a shoulder to cry on, but on some level, that whole energy surrounding the event feels toxic. You may feel guilty for pulling away from him/her at this point, and so allow yourself to be “sucked in”. Sometimes, we are completely oblivious to the tug until we are entangled in the drama.

No matter how you experience this, there are simple, powerful energetic tools to evolve your energy and be less available to those who consciously or unconsciously feed off your energy.

Well, guess what, no one can feed off your energy without your consent. The power to regulate your energy lies within you. Here is what you can do if you ever find yourself in such a situation:

1. Maintain your energetic boundaries – When there is minimal or no distance between your energy field and that of others, you are easily pulled into other people’s needs and emotions.
2. Maintain a Healthy Second Chakra – Your 2nd chakra thrives when aligned with your emotions, rather than feeling those of others.
3. Ground your Energy – When your energy is grounded, you are well anchored against any drama.

In case you are wondering how to practice the above, here’s how:

To set energetic boundaries, indulge in some beautiful visualizations. Imagine a golden boundary around your aura which extends outward from your body. Don’t worry if you cannot see or feel your aura to create auric boundaries. Your intention and attention are enough. With this in place, you will only attract people who are self-aware tuned in.

To maintain a healthy second (sacral) chakra, imagine a pressure valve at the seat of your emotions, located in front of your spine, just below your navel. Set the knob to ¼ way and minimize the space surrounding the chakra. This enhances emotional awareness and will help you discern which emotions are yours and which belong to others.

To ground yourself, simply close your eyes and as you breathe imagine a big green ball of energy moving from the top of your head to your toes and into the earth connecting you to the centre of the Earth like a cord that is anchoring you. When you are grounded you are not easily swayed by what goes on around you.

So, by using these empowering energy tools, you can attain a level of self-awareness where you can easily perceive “your stuff is yours, my stuff is mine”, keeping all energy vampires at bay! You got the Power!
