RAINBOW CAKE

 RAINBOW CAKE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

4 eggs
250g (1½ cups) sugar
200ml (¾ cup) vegetable oil
250ml (1 cup) milk
300g (2⅓ cup) self-raising flour
6 food colours

METHOD

STEP 1
Set and preheat the oven to 180ºC. Butter and line round/square baking tin with a grease proof paper/foil.

STEP 2
Beat the eggs and sugar in a bowl using a whisk/hand blender for about 30 seconds.

STEP 3
Add the oil and milk and whisk into the egg mixture. Then sift the flour into this and mix to form a pourable batter.

STEP 4
Divide the batter into 6 equal parts then add the food colours and mix completely.

STEP 5
Pour a little of the cake mixes with the different colours at the centre of the tin and let it spread freely. Repeat the procedure until all the cake mix is done and try to pour each colour 3 times, to get more colours in the cake.

STEP 6
Bake the cake in a preheated oven for an hour or until a small knife inserted comes out dry and the cake is browned on the outside. Then allow to cool, before serving it on a plate.
