New Year’s Resolution For Children! – H&S Education & Parenting

Getting Your Child Into The Habit Of Making Thoughtful New Year’s Resolution!

This New Year, get your children involved too. New Year’s resolutions shouldn’t have to be for adults only, make sure you involve your children & put this into practice every year starting 2020. Teaching your children to not only making goals but also sticking to them can be a very valuable lesson. Help your children make their resolutions as it is important to guide. Guide them whilst not only planning their goals but also helping them come to fruition. Whatever your children decide, at all times, make sure they are positive. After all, this is why the involvement of you as parents, when kids making resolutions becomes imperative. For children, try to avoid using phrases such as ‘I am not going to do this’ or ‘I will stop doing this’ as they are negative and should be replaced with phrases such as ‘I want to do this’ or ‘I am going to do this’. It’s also a good idea to help your children become more thoughtful. So why not start with a thoughtful New Year’s Resolution this 2020!

4 Thoughtful New Year’s Resolutions For Your Children This 2020:

1. An Act Of Kindness- Remember a resolution where a child can show kindness will help them grow as better humans. It could be ‘I will visit an orphanage once a month’ or ‘I will adopt & rescue a pet’. Whatever the act of kindness, this resolution can help your child in the long run.

2. Helping In The Household Chores- This one’s also a nice resolution, just make sure you help your child state what he/she wants to do. For example, ‘I will help set up the table for dinner on the weekends’. This way your kids get to get involved and learn to help as well.

3. Using The 3 Magic Words: Please, Thank you & Sorry- these words are important and what a better way to use them then to incorporate them as a New Year’s resolution.

4. Environmental Friendly- What better way to teach our children to be kinder to the universe than on New Year’s. This one is a brilliant resolution. ‘I will switch off the lights when I am not in my room’ or ‘I will spend less time in the shower, and close the taps tight’. This way your child learns to get disciplined as well and learns not to waste.
