Oliech, a sole child to his parents and a skilled young contractor, faces mounting pressure from both his family and his native village to wed and perpetuate the family lineage as his aging parents desire.

However, Oliech finds himself deeply enamored with Rembo, his childhood sweetheart. Yet, Rembo believes she should only commit to marriage once she secures stable employment and attains financial independence, a stance that conflicts with Oliech’s family’s expectations.

When Rembo leaves Oliech for Nairobi in search of better opportunities, Oliech, spurred by a job offer in Kendu Bay, unexpectedly returns with Supa, a tough-minded orphan who yearns for independence from her controlling aunt and sees marriage to Oliech as her ticket to freedom.

Despite Oliech and his confidant Obimbo’s objections, Supa adamantly asserts her status as Oliech’s wife, leading to tension and confusion. News of Oliech’s supposed marriage spreads to his village, leading his jubilant parents to plan a surprise visit to Kisumu to meet their new daughter-in-law.

Meanwhile, in Nairobi, Rembo struggles to adapt to her new life and eventually resorts to pressuring Oliech into supporting her financially, jeopardizing his job and leaving him unable to sustain both households.

As the pressure mounts and the situation becomes increasingly precarious, Oliech is faced with difficult decisions. How will he navigate the conflicting expectations of his family, his village, and his love interests? And what will he do when his parents arrive in town, expecting to meet their eagerly anticipated daughter-in-law?
