Love – Positive Reflection Of The Week

All We Need Is Love – by Shahwana

Today, Yesterday, and the Tomorrow to come. We have always needed love to survive and will always need it. Yes, it is a need. The issue comes in when we expect Love from another human and don’t get what we expect, and are left empty and sad. Well, some wise people taught us ‘how about loving the person you are with 24 – 7?’ You know who is that? Yes, you are right it is YOU! Here we are searching outward, when we accept ourselves & start sending love to ourselves, people notice the same vibration. You feel good about yourself & people around you will pick that vibe.

However, most times we are too focused on the negativity and self-criticism, and low self-image thoughts about ourselves, that we really forget to notice the good in us. What does it mean to self-love? Self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological, and spiritual growth. Self-love means having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness. Self-love means taking care of your own needs and not sacrificing your well-being to please others. Self-love means not settling for less than you deserve!

What does self-love mean to you?
For starters, it can mean:
• Talking to and about yourself with love
• Prioritizing yourself
• Giving yourself a break from self-judgment
• Trusting yourself
• Being true to yourself
• Being nice to yourself
• Setting healthy boundaries
• Forgiving yourself when you aren’t being true or nice to yourself

For many people, self-love is another way to say self-care. To practice self-care, we often need to go back to the basics and
• Listen to our bodies
• Take breaks from work and move/stretch.
• Put the phone down and connect to yourself or others, or do something creative.
• Eating healthily, but sometimes indulging in your favourite foods.

Self-love means accepting yourself as you are in this very moment for everything that you are. It means accepting your emotions for what they are and putting your physical, emotional, and mental well-being first.

Love makes the world go round, but self-love is where it starts!

It is important in all aspects of life, yet it is especially important to your relationship. The first stop on the road to romance is YOU. It is honouring and loving oneself that opens the door for another to truly do the same.

Don’t Break Your Own Heart: “Self-love seems so often unrequited.” – Anthony Powell

Improve Your Love Skills: “If you aren’t good at loving yourself, you will have a difficult time loving anyone, since you’ll resent the time and energy you give another person that you aren’t even giving to yourself.” -Barbara De Angelis

Enjoy a Piece of Heaven: “To love yourself right now, just as you are, is to give yourself heaven. Don’t wait until you die. If you wait, you die now. If you love, you live now.” -Alan Cohen

So take that step, start with love within. YOU are a unique gift from the only one like you, remember that!
