Life – Positive Reflection Of The Week

Life & Its Patterns – by Shahwana Khanam

Life is a pattern of series, have you ever given that a thought? How does this work and do we have the power to change the patterns? Who put these patterns in us in the first place?

We may not know it, but some patterns we are born with, we have a purpose when we choose to
incarnate. Where will we incarnate – which town/city to which parents? What lessons do we have to learn as a soul and what are we going to accomplish? However, for some strange reason, the soul
forgets its greater purpose and starts living life, at times not following its greater purpose. That is
why there comes a time when we feel empty, we know there is more to life than just living the materialistic life.. you just know there is more to life than just this…

Patterns of life, can they be changed? Yes, if we start thinking outside the box. Many of us are used to the same life patterns day in, day out, not wanting to change the way we live, dress, eat, reason. Fear of the unknown: we ask “what if this happens, what if that happens?” It is these “ifs” that limit our life’s greatest potential!

Having this knowledge, if we look carefully into our lives, we will be able to categorize the negative
repeated patterns into one or few of these categories which makes it much easier to learn and therefore stop the pattern.

The first element needed for growth, is awareness, as without awareness change is impossible. Therefore, identifying the patterns and recognizing their cause is of utmost importance. Spend time
alone daily about 5 minutes to reflect on your day and see what needs help and where! The next step is how?

This exercise will help you identify your purpose & will give you a hint of the daily pattern you still follow and how you can change them. Awareness can bring the motion of change. Follow The Golden Rule (the biblical rule of ‘do as you would be done by’ (Matt. 7:12)) you shall inherit the wise man’s wealth.

Some patterns have been implanted from our childhood days, some even when we were just a fetus. For example, did you know that if our parents were going through a lot of stress at the time of conceiving us, i.e. they had money issues or were really anxious at the time, thinking how they are going to bring you up, maybe you are the third child? Those worries/stress can have an effect on you, & your patterns make you believe money is not enough, you then end up having insecurity issues, even though these may not be your patterns.

Mothers who ‘connect’ with their baby during pregnancy are more likely to interact in a more positive way with their infant after it is born, according to a new study. Interaction is important for helping infants learn and develop. Read more on www.sciencedaily.com

Life can be compared to a training ground, to a school. Every year we learn a new set of skills & gain new knowledge, and to make sure we have learnt enough to move on, we need to take exams. Exams in life, are the difficult situations and challenges we keep facing. If we pass the exam, we move on, but if we fail, we need to take the exam again. But there is a difference between ‘life challenges’ and our ‘exams’ at school.

Change the behaviour by being aware and you can pass this life’s exam and in turn, change those old behaviour patterns. For example, a person who smokes a lot starts having lung issues, now before the lungs contract major illness like emphysema or cancer – they decide to quit smoking altogether and start exercising, living a balanced healthy life. What do you think will be the result? That’s a lifestyle change, that person has changed a pattern of addiction. Naturally, the body will start getting healthier. Another way to look at this, the person changed his/her karma of ill health to better living. The good news is, when the lesson is learnt, the situation often improves instantly.
This concept is connected with the Law of Karma.

“The Law of Karma is closely tied to the Law of Evolution. It is evolutionary in its effects!” – Master Choa Kok Sui

Is there a way to make it as in ‘Life’ easier? Well, yes there is!
What if we are more aware and mindful and what if we learn the lessons before they become a challenge in life? We can look at these lessons from the point of view of Virtues versus Vices! In Pranic Healing system, Master Choa Kok Sui (Founder of Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga System) calls it Character Building, dividing them into 5 sets of dos and don’ts, virtues and vices, yang vs. yin.

The 5 Virtues are:
1. Loving-Kindness and Non-Injury
2. Generosity and Non-Stealing
3. Honesty and Non-Lying/Accurate Perception and Correct Expression
4. The constancy of Aim and Effort and Non-Laziness
5. Moderation and Non-Excessiveness

These 5 virtues are connected with the Love, Light and Power, aspects of God respectively. Having this knowledge, if we look carefully into our lives, we will be able to categorize the negative repeated patterns into one or few of these categories which makes it much easier to learn and therefore stop the pattern.

Remember, the power is in your hands, you have a choice to better your life!
