His musical prowess was undeniable, and by 18, he found himself drafted into the British colonial Kenya Regiment. Post his service, Roger pursued a diverse path, studying medicine in South Africa and venturing into the world of science in Wales, with dreams of becoming a teacher. However, the call of music remained too strong to ignore.
