I Give, I Receive! – Positive Reflection Of The Week

Outlook To Life – I Give, I Receive! – By Shahwana Khanam

Have we ever thought of why we get what we get, in terms of gifts, in term of compliments or even critics? Well, let’s stop and think! What did we plant to harvest the fruits?

If you are gentle and kind, filled with humility, what kind of people do you think you will attract? People with similar energy. Why? because that is what you are radiating outwards. The interpretation of this is, that giving is an act of kindness. There is another old saying: The more you give, the more you get. So, is the act of giving truly an act of kindness, even if you know you’ll receive something back, and even if you don’t know exactly what it is? I think so, especially if the act of giving has no strings attached – even if giving more means you get more, then it truly is an act of kindness.

This is true in life, and part of life is business. Giving is part of the customer experience. Customers like to receive, and when they do, they return the “favour” by spending their money with you. In modern times, we call this The Law of Reciprocity. Zig Ziglar, the late and great motivational speaker summed it up well when he said, “You will get all you want in life if you help other people get what they want.”

The law is simple yet we do expect much more than what we give out, which is human nature. How about we take some changing steps?

“For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” ― St. Francis of Assisi

“Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” ― St. Francis Of Assisi

Be there when someone needs you and you will always have someone there when you are in need, it is not failed for millions & it will not fail for you.

If you want ‘love’, what should you give? Simple, ‘Love!  This applies to every aspect of our life. Try the test. Giving is a joyful feeling. Have you ever experienced it?

Money is another aspect we are chasing after, so how do we start receiving more of it? All religions talk about tithing have you considered trying it out?

Feed the hungry, give someone medical aid, there is so much we can do! Especially in Kenya, we have so many people in need. For charity begins at home. Give time to yourself and to your loved ones. With Covid, we have seen life can change any minute. Do not take the moments of love for granted. Share what you know, equip someone with a skill you know that can benefit them.

Giving is the key to success, fulfilment and a life filled with prosperity. “No one has ever become poor by giving.” The world needs more people who go into the world and give their all, to aid in the betterment of society. People need to stand up and start adding value to other people’s lives by being of service and living selflessly.
