Connecting With The Divine: The Power Of Prayer & Meditation For Energy Clearing
Prayer—or communion with a deity or whatever you imagine the Divine to be—can be a simple and direct way of dealing with negative energy. You can pray to your concept of the Divine in the same way you ask a tree to take unwanted energy from me and return it to the earth to be redistributed where it is most appropriate. This is a natural and easy method for those who already have a prayer practise. If it fits your belief system, it can become a simple, quiet, and beautiful experience for those who do not pray. If the act of prayer, on the other hand, conjures up unpleasant memories, substitute meditation for prayer. They are not the same thing, but they are similar. While in prayer we commune with the Divine, in meditation we connect with our highest inner wisdom. Meditation can provide a similar sense of peace and connection, allowing you to let go of negative energy and find inner balance. It provides a non-religious alternative for those who do not agree with prayer but still want to engage in a calming practise. Finally, both prayer and meditation provide unique opportunities to cultivate inner harmony and a deeper connection with oneself or the universe.
Lastly, Acts of Kindness!
Determine an act that counters the nature of the energy you want to clear. Do an altruistic or charitable act, for example, to clear selfish or clingy energy. Forgive someone if you need to release and cleanse angry, negative energy.
This is also an excellent technique for releasing negative behaviours and traits that have arisen as a result of deep-seated negative energy within yourself. Sometimes, when energy takes up residence in us, it can shape our behaviour in ways that are contrary to our values.
Even if the energy body has been cleansed and healed, the physical body (including the mind) must catch up. The physical body takes time to break old habits. Consistently training yourself to behave in accordance with your ideals will result in long-term change. If the physical body’s behaviour is not altered, the energy will most likely return because the environment is so inviting.
Now that you’ve mastered some clearing techniques, make some notes about your reactions to some of these techniques. Try at least one from each section. Take note of how you felt before and after the technique.
