Create A Chic And Productive Home Office Space With Mabel

HOW TO CREATE A CHIC AND PRODUCTIVE HOME OFFICE SPACE by MABEL

Here are a few tips on how to easily and affordably bring form, function and fun to your home office space.

MAKE IT PERSONAL.
If there is one thing interior decorators will agree on, it’s that your home office needs to reflect you and your style. Add personal touches, a special item you love, colours that you dearly love, something you found while on vacation, a vintage find, anything that makes your space feel uniquely yours. Add some photo frame, to create that homely feel.

LIGHT IT UP.
Lighting can make all the difference in a room, both aesthetically and functionally. A desk lamp is a perfect purchase. During the day, be strategically positioned where the natural light is perfectly cutting across the room. This enables you to not only operate well but to bring that cheery feel in your space.

TRY BRING THE OUTSIDE IN.
This is what I am simply trying to say, add some nature. Go for houseplants, anyone who knows me knows how much I love houseplants. You can use succulents if you have limited space as I do. Every office desk needs at least one plant. Guess what, these plants have proven to boost productivity, artificial or not.

ADD A PERSONALITY RUG.
A rug is a great way to add colour and texture to an office, that pop of colour and personality is always on the floor, so for my case, I did a black and white rug.

GO DEEP ON YOUR WALL.
I settled for a wallpaper since I have a toddler at home. The painting wouldn’t have been so friendly on her. The wall brings out so much in a space, its decor, colour. You can clearly bring out your theme through the wall. Introduce mirrors or arts, neatly organized. This completes any interior.

COMFORTABLE FURNITURE.
Your comfort will rely mostly on the type of furniture you settle for. It doesn’t have to be too expensive, anything that will work for you is okay. If you prefer a seat with back support, a chair with or without arms, good to go, grab it! For my case I prefer Eames chairs without arms, they are not only stylish and chic but they do create that amazing ambience in any room.

For the table, something that you feel is a perfect fit for what you want to display and your computer is what you settle for, just something spacious enough for you to function well or small enough to make it feel all cosy and functional.

KEEP A CONSISTENT COLOUR PALETTE.
Try maintain your colour theme, it leaves all things attractive and neat. Try playing with colours in all the perfect ways that blend in nicely. Don’t just have an unthemed desk, you might want to bring out your personality soundly. For a chic home office, my suggestion on three amazing colours, go for a combination of pink, luminous blue, turquoise green, then add some touch of gold. Stick to white furniture. Thank me later.

KEEP IT ORGANIZED.
A cluttered and unorganized working space can have a negative impact on your productivity. Organized desk not only helps you in your productivity but also makes you feel happier and on top of your game, especially if you are an interior decorator.

A TOUCH OF GOLD, IS MAGICAL.
Am not quite sure if you have ever tried introducing a touch of gold in your decor. There is something about anything golden. Just a bit of it, it not only introduces some classy touch in the surrounding but its also extremely beautiful.

ARE YOU A FAN OF SCENTS?
Home feels so good, smells so good, some scents around your working space will give you that zeal of working for even longer hours since the environment is calm and so wanting. Do you know how you feel when you wear your perfume? Forget about that how about when you don’t wear it? Now you get me. I find Reed Diffusers to be not only presentable but a little classy in style.

DO IT YOURSELF IF YOU CAN. (DIY)
Do you know that most of the DIY projects always turn out to be the best in the interior decor field? Imagine creating something just as you want it…shape, size, colour name it. So if you can paint your desk do it, if you can create your own mouse pad, save some cost and do it. If you can redefine what you already purchased, why not? Remember we are going all chic on this space.

Those are my easy to steal tips. Hope you are willing to try them out.
