CHICKEN LASAGNE RECIPE
CHICKEN LASAGNE (servings for 4-5)
INGREDIENTS
Lasagna sheets 10-12 (cooked as per instructions on the package)
½ kg boneless chicken cut into cubes
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 onion chopped
1 green capsicum chopped
2 teaspoons red chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
1 cup ready-made pizza sauce
½ teaspoon red chili flakes
½ teaspoon oregano
½ bunch chopped parsley to garnish
4 tablespoons oil
Salt to taste
METHOD
STEP 1
Heat oil in a pan, add garlic, onions and capsicum and sauté, then add the chicken and cook this for at least 15
minutes and season with salt.
STEP 2
Now to the above add red chili powder and black pepper powder then add the pizza sauce and cook for 5—7 minutes. Add some parsley, red chili flakes and oregano and mix and set aside.
FOR THE CHEESE SAUCE & LAYERING
INGREDIENTS
50 grams butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 ½ cups milk
½ cup cheese spread (optional)
½ cup mozzarella
2 cups mozzarella for layering
Salt to taste
METHOD
STEP 1
In a sauce pan, heat butter over low flame, add all-purpose flour and sauté for about 30 seconds, add milk little by little stirring continuously not to form lumps.
STEP 2
Increase the flame and bring to a boil and once it thickens add the cheese spread and ½ cup mozzarella cheese and season with salt and pepper and adjust seasoning if need be.
STEP 3
Grease a baking dish with a little butter, make a layer with the cooked lasagna sheets at the bottom and spread some of the chicken mix and cheese sauce on top and sprinkle some mozzarella on top and cover it with a layer
of lasagna sheets. Now repeat the process for the last layer and sprinkle mozzarella at the top generously and sprinkle some parsley on top.
STEP 4
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove from oven and serve hot.
