beef burger pattiesBEEF BURGER PATTIES RECIPE (4-6 patties)

INGREDIENTS

500 gm beef mince
1 tsp mixed herbs
2 tsp paprika powder
1 to 1½ tsp salt
2-3 garlic cloves (grated)
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper (crushed)
½ tsp cumin powder
1 cup flour for dusting
Oil for frying
Slices of cheese (1 for each patty)
Burger buns
Butter
Toppings of your choice (we have used tomatoes, lettuce & caramelized onions)
Your desired sauce (we have used our sauce made with mayo, ketchup, chilli powder)

METHOD

STEP 1

After cleaning the minced beef and straining it into a bowl (draining most of the water out) add the mixed herbs, paprika powder, garlic, chilli powder, salt, pepper & cumin powder & mix thoroughly. Then cover the bowl with a cling film & refrigerate for 1-2 hours.

STEP 2

Take the bowl out of the fridge then make 4-6 equal parts or balls out of the mincemeat & shape into round patties (keep in mind the patties should be a little larger in size than the width of the burger bun).

STEP 3

Gently take each patty and dip into the flour, making sure the patty is fully covered.

STEP 4
Add 1 to 2 tbsp oil in a skillet and cook on medium-high until the patty starts to darken in colour on the bottom. Flip once, then let the meat darken on the top side then add a slice of cheese on top, and cook a few minutes longer.

STEP 5
Butter inside of the burger buns and lightly toast them on a separate frying pan, cut side down.
Then assemble your burger with your desired toppings & sauce and enjoy.

Serve with fries on the side!!

Tips: Don’t flip the patty until it is done on one side. You can with the help of a spoon, keep pouring the oil from the skillet onto the patty whilst it is cooking, to keep it moist!
