How To Avoid Buying The Wrong Property

So you are planning to buy the dream property you desired, but you are not sure if it’s for you. We have some tips that can help you decide whether you should settle for a place or not. After all you will be investing a ton into wherever you want to be living. So here below are the 4 tips on how to avoid a bad investment!

1. Talk To The Neighbours Or Friends – Talk around to all those who are living near, within or around the vicinity. Find out about the place, whether it has malls or restaurants nearby? Find out about the traffic, noise pollution, schools etc. This way you will be able to gauge whether the place you are thinking of picking is worth the amount you’re investing and whether the neighbourhood is friendly and the quality of life they’re living.

2. Rent The Place – It’s always a safe bet to rent the place for at least a few months, rather than invest in an off-plan, especially if you are planning to live in it yourself. This way you will be able to gauge the quality of the place itself before making the commitment.

3. Is The Offer Too Good To Be True? – If there’s a deal that sounds too good to be true then you know that there’s something fishy! If the pricing is off and you can estimate this by checking similar properties in the neighbourhood, then you know that there’s something wrong. It could either be a scam or the property is not built to standard. Beware don’t fall in the trap and jump to put in the money just cause you got offered a cheap place. Do your research thoroughly and hopefully you will be saved from a very bad investment.

4. Do You Picture Yourself Living There? – When you walk into the property for viewing, you either get an instant feeling of excitement where you can see yourself living in that place, or you don’t! There’s no mixed feelings! If you walk into a property and you know it’s not the one, then don’t waste your time or the agent’s time.
