3 ways To Declutter Your Home – H&S Homes & Gardens

Begin The Year by Decluttering Your Home

3 ways To Declutter Your Home - H&S Homes & GardensThere’s no place like home, your home is your haven, your sanctuary a place where you spend most of your time! What better way to begin the year than by decluttering your home? Have you got too many things lying around your home and you just don’t know what to do with them? Are you trying to make a note of what things are loved and needed vs what things are unloved and not needed? The first thing to do is to realise what things are actually useful. This can be done simply. Walk around the house with a notepad or your tablet/phone and make a list of all the items you think are not useful. Look at your list and ask yourself the question for each item listed: ‘Can I do without this?’ If your answer is yes, then you can now safely move on to the next step: What can I do with this? There are at least 3 ways of discarding your clutter!3 ways To Declutter Your Home - H&S Homes & Gardens

  1. Why not pass those things over to the needy and homeless? You don’t just get rid off all the extra unused things lying around but you have also done a good deed by helping those who could make use of those items & what better way to the start the New Year.
  2. Are any of the items recyclable? If yes, then maybe you want to give those items away for recycling. This way you have done the planet good! Again what better way of starting the New Year.
  3. Are you in need of cash? If you feel on the list of items you have some expensive antiques and want to sell them to make some money then by all means it is yours and you can sell them off & make some $$$!

once and only once you have made more space in your home, you can think of how to revamp your home! Note: don’t buy things that are not needed and take up a lot of unnecessary space in your home. Before making the purchase always ask yourself the question ‘do I need this?’ vs ‘do I want this?’ This way you will avoid cluttering your home, keeping it clutter free!
