Spirituality – Positive Reflection Of The Week

Spirituality: A Way Of Life- By Shahwana Khanam

Spirituality is a broad concept with room for many perspectives. In general, it includes a sense of connection to bigger than us, and it typically involves a search for meaning in life. As such, it is a universal human experience something that touches us all. People may describe a spiritual experience as sacred or transcendent or simply a deep sense of aliveness and interconnectedness. Often its identity or its practice is mistaken to be only meditation, Yoga breathing or likes, for some deep connection to one’s religious beliefs and practices.

However, if we look deeper being spiritual is beyond the belief systems we have been used to or exposed to from our childhood or into our adulthood experiences.

Let us explore: Spirituality is changing internally, letting go of stuff that no longer serves us with inner peace or clarity of mind. It’s a process, like removing layers of an onion and while doing this tears are rolling, that’s a symbolic term of life, it is not going to be an easy one-day transformation. It takes time & it takes courage for the internal thoughts, habits to start taking changing.

Sometimes the spiritual path is lonely, as people around you cannot understand why you wish not to indulge in arguments anymore, or ignore certain comments, you wish to retrieve to your own company. One must be courageous to be on a spiritual path one chooses to follow; Trust in God is the start of that journey.

“All of us have good qualities, but we all make mistakes. To develop, we must get rid of these weaknesses. We must remove these obstacles and sacrifice them to God.” – GMCKS (Founder of Arhatic Yoga & Pranic Healing)

A person wanting to be on the Spiritual path has to be dynamic, ready to serve the community & must believe in the path chosen. The practitioner becomes a listener to the people around him/her, to its higher self’s whispers, gets a direction for its life purpose and follows its goals. Usually, it’s a goal to help and make the surroundings a better place, whether it’s on human, animal or plant kingdom level, its purpose is to serve.

“I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”– Martin Luther

Every day a spiritual practitioner kneels in prayer first, remembers to bless others, before itself. Knows the needs of those around him/her, knows that the body is a vehicle it is using and that the true nature of self is a Soul.

“Awakening is not changing who you are but discarding who you are not.”– Deepak Chopra

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” – John 2:19 Here in this verse, Jesus was referring to his body and not to a physical temple.

For a Spiritual path, the first step is to be in the presence of ‘I am’, knowing that I am a soul starts the journey of greater you. For once, start understanding if I am a soul, so are others, the need to give up anger, hatred, jealousy and overcoming other weakness comes easy, as we see each other as one. The process of a Spiritual way of life now becomes much clear….

Remember, A Spiritual Practitioner Surrenders:
 Pride
 Arrogance
 Old ideas
 Old vices
 Anger, Irritation, Pain and Obstructing Attitudes

Spiritual success depends on your conductivity, your aim and effort to overcome the above. It takes time; it is a process. Have patience & have a Journey with an aim.
