Shadow Series Part 2 – Positive Reflection Of The Week
Embracing Your Shadow Part 2
In my previous article, I mentioned that the Shadow was a place where we do not like to visit or stay for too long. It is the part of us that we are ashamed to take responsibility for, and also deal with.
When we have too many skeletons in our closet, we get to a point where we feel powerless. Because, just like Dr. Jekyll was unable to keep Mr. Hyde away for too long, and eventually ended up being consumed by that persona, we too keep losing our true authentic self to our shadow.
So, the only way to know and empower yourself completely is to step into the unknown – your Shadow.
The unknown is where we get our power from.
The first thing to do is to sit with all your uncomfortable parts, and allowing yourself to experience all thought things that you are ashamed or afraid of – the jealousy, the anger, the hate – just sit with them, recognize them. Give them a voice.
When you sit with the unknown and experience yourself fully, you get new insights on why it is you are experiencing these shadows.
We all have a shadow. What is important is to know that you are a quantum creator, and just as you create the parts of you that everyone loves, you also create the parts of you that you hate and are ashamed of.
Power comes from navigating the experiences the unknown gifts you. Revisiting the moments where the shadow was born, and replacing the feelings of hate, disgust and judgment with love, compassion, acceptance and forgiveness.
It may feel and look scary at first. But, you must go inside yourselves to find all the resources you need to navigate uncharted, dark territory.
But here is the thing: you have to be brave enough to step outside your cosy, comfy, familiar self and get yourself into the dark unknown.
Are you willing to step into your shadow?
