Working From Home: How To Set-Up Your Home For A Zoom Meeting?
With the current COVID-19 crisis a lot of things have changed. One of the things is that we now work most of the time from our homes, conducting online meetings. Working from your home can actually be inspirational, provided it is not only aesthetically pleasing but provided it is set up correctly for you to be able to conduct those Zoom calls. Keep reading to find out how to set-up your home for a Zoom Meeting!
1. Choose A Space With Proper Lighting As Well As Acoustics-
Did you know your living room actually is a perfect space to conduct your Zoom meetings? Because it is the largest room in your home with great acoustics & a good amount of lighting. That said it’s not the only place in your home. If you have a dedicated space for your office such as room converted into an office you can very well use it to conduct your Zoom meetings.
2. Get Rid Of All The Background Clutter-
Before setting up for your meeting make sure the room is clean and tidy and that the background is presentable. You don’t want to have garbage in the background as that doesn’t look professional. If your desk is against a wall then you need to take care that the view behind you is not shabby. If possible you can use a wall as your background.
3. Dress According To Your Background –
If the wall behind you is black, please don’t wear black as you will just disappear with the background. Make sure you can stand out against the background and that the eyes are on you and not the wall.
4. Lighting-
Your window shouldn’t be in the background as that would mean too much light and it’s not comfortable for others. If you have a ring light use that. You can always check and adjust your lighting before getting into the meeting. Usually, if you are holding your meetings always from the same room, you just need to adjust the lighting once.
5. Try To Keep Your Pets Out Of The Meeting-
If you are having a very formal meeting then you don’t want your pet intruding the meeting. However, if the clients you are having a meeting with doesn’t mind animals, you can let your pet in, provided your pet doesn’t take over the meeting.
