Purpose Driven Life – Positive Reflection Of The Week
“Purpose Lead Me Here…” – by Alia Datoo
If there is anything that 2020 has taught me, it is this one thing: Let your passion define your purpose.
With the Lockdown enforced early in the year, like a lot of people, I was forced to deal with a lot of anxiety. However, I discovered that in helping others cope with their apprehensions and fears, I felt better.
I conducted my first every metaphysics workshop in March, and seconds after finishing it, I felt a warm wave of satisfaction. I was nervous and sceptical, but everything about the moment had felt right. It was as though I had slipped into a role destined for me. Despite being entirely new territory for me, metaphysical coaching felt familiar. From that moment on, I knew that helping and empowering people with the help of my metaphysical gifts and knowledge was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Do you want to know a secret? Everyone has gifts and talents that are capable of making a lasting impact. Unfortunately, very few people use their gifts to fulfil their life’s purpose, mainly because they fail to recognize their gifts and talents.
Over the past few months, I have conducted, remotely, workshops that have given me a unique sense of purpose. Metaphysical Coaching has given my life direction, and a prevailing sense of accomplishment I have never felt so deeply.
I have known many people who have spent years of their lives searching for their passion and life purpose. Some will travel the world to look for it, others change their jobs, while others end up leaving relationships to re-invent themselves physically and mentally. While all these self-exploration undertakings are great, figuring out your passion and life purpose need not be so far-fetched.
Not everyone can afford to travel to faraway places, or quit their job or even leave their long term relationships to pursue something they have no guarantee of finding. However, everyone can hit the pause button and take time to Tune Inwards; to look inside and understand what drives you.
It may sound cynical when you have most of your life slaving away at meaningless jobs, however, your enthusiasm and interests guide your purpose and have always done, whether you’ve realised it or not.
Ask yourself, why did you really get that Degree in Business? Was it to remain in a typical desk job? or maybe it may indicate that your purpose all along was to help charities or organizations solve significant world issues using supply chain management.
To figure out your purpose, all you need to do is figure out your passion and develop creative ways to employ it. Here’s how:
Firstly, look at both your professional and personal life. How have your passions and interests influenced you? Can you use what you have learnt or experienced to help others in similar situations?
Next, think about what pursuits would inspire you and give your life meaning. What are the things that you enjoy doing and bring joy to your life? How do these things impact and/or influence you?
Lastly, but not at all the least, what impact would you like to make on others?
I am passionate about my healing and hiking and have always aspired to combine the two together.
Life becomes more meaningful when we invest in impacting and empowering others. You don’t need to buy a plane ticket, start job hunting in the dark or buy a load of specialist equipment to discover your passion and life purpose. Simply start where you are by looking back at your life and start connecting the dots between the best moments of your life and what brings you meaning.
And remember, your purpose does not lie in the material. It lies in how you use the material.
Have you discovered your passion and life purpose?
