How To Write A Love Letter This Christmas
With Christmas around the corner, a lot of us must be on the ‘perfect’ Christmas gift hunt for the special someone. Living in the digital era has been somewhat of a curse as the old ways of romance have disappeared. The fact that we tend to give more time to our phones and tablets than to our loved ones is baffling. It’s about time we change this notion this Christmas & turn towards the old ways of romance. Yes, this Christmas it’s getting in touch with the old ways when one used ink to express their thoughts and feelings. A love letter is an ideal gift to think of this Christmas. The Art Of Writing A Love Letter:
1. Why Are You Writing The Letter – When writing your letter, think about the purpose. Remember the letter is a love letter and at all times your lover should be in awe! You don’t necessarily need to start with Dear Samantha. You can start with My Darling Wife for e.g. or a nickname that you use.
2. Start With A Lovely Memory- It’s always a great idea to start with a past romantic moment you shared with your lover. This could be, for example, the very first day you met. Whatever memory you are sharing on paper, write to your lover the way you recall that particular moment. It could be joyful, exciting, emotional, funny, breathtaking perhaps. Whatever the description make sure you do justice to the memory.
3. Transition From The Past Into The Present Gracefully- So you have mentioned the past, now transition to where you stand today in the relationship. Perhaps you could state for example Even today, years later you still manage to make my heart skip a beat.
4. Remind The Person Why You Still Love Them- You can remind your lover whilst in the present about why you love him/her. Get creative and descriptive with your writing. Remember this is only for his/her eyes. So be open and write your heart out. If you want to be a little sexy go ahead. This is your letter to your lover and it should be everything you want it to be.
5. End The Letter Strongly & Passionately- Remember the last words you write will be etched in your lover’s heart forever. End romantically, for example using, ‘I will continue to love you until my last breath’ & then sign off passionately; ‘your one and only’ or ‘your crazy lover’.
To get a little more creative you can also use old paper or recycled paper, can add a little scent to the paper or you can add rose petals inside the envelope with a wax seal & voila you have the perfect Christmas gift for your special someone!
