Know Your Body Through Your Energy Part 3 – Positive Reflection Of The Week

Know Your Body Part 3: Spiritual Meaning Of Acne

If you are or have a teenager with Acne problems, this may interest them.

Your skin represents the Boundary between your inner self and the world outside of you.

When you experience an acne flare-up, it could be that you feel like something inside of you is unappealing, unattractive or unfitting for those around you.

Feelings like grief or anger may feel like emotions you’re trying to suppress, so your skin is flaring up with all the pent up emotions.

Sometimes you get Acne flares when you need to retreat, to not be seen for a while, to be alone so that you can process and be with your feelings.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself if you or a teen you know, are having an acne flare to help decipher the spiritual meaning of acne:

– Am I aware of the feelings that are going on for me right now?
– Do I feel I can fully express my feelings and that I will be accepted?
– Is there something I’m trying to hold back from the world or the people around me?
– Do I feel the need to retreat, to be alone, to not be looked at by anyone right now?

Sometimes, Acne flare ups can be caused due to suppressed Anger.

Your skin does a lot of detoxing. Acne may be a symptom of unprocessed anger.

Anger is usually a defence mechanism. To protect the self, to ensure that your needs are being met and that your boundaries are not being crossed. When this is not the case, and you believe it is because you are not deserving of being protected having your needs met, or your boundaries respected, you also shy away from expressing “anger” and so your skin expresses it for you.

As you get closer to the spiritual meaning of your acne, here are some questions to help you assess if you are in touch with your anger.

– What is my relationship like to my anger? Can I feel it and acknowledge it easily?
– How do I express my anger, if at all?
– Am I clear on my needs and boundaries?
– Are my needs mostly met, my boundaries mostly respected?
– Do I feel I can clearly state my needs and boundaries when I need to?

Acne can also mean an overflow of stress, frustration, or resentment. It can also means that the system is heating up in response to a toxin. Toxins can be physical, but they can also be energetic. Again, have a look at some questions to help with an energy detox:

– Is there someone or something in my life that feels toxic?
– Do I have access to the emotion of disgust, which helps us stay away from toxic substances and people/situations?
– Is there something that has entered my energetic field that has not left? This could be someone else’s energy or energy from a past experience that remains unprocessed.

Next Week we look at Arthritis.
