Hyderabadi Dessert- Double Ka Meetha Or Shahi Tukda

Here is another authentic Hyderabadi recipe- a Hyderabadi dessert for all those with a sweet tooth- Double Ka Meetha or Shahi Tukda written & shared by Rizwana Diwan the Founder of cooking classes-Diwan’s A-3 Aroma Classes in Nagpur, India!

Authentic Hyderabadi Dessert
Double Ka Meetha or Shahi Tukda: By Rizwana Diwan

INGREDIENTS

6 Bread slices (cut it into 4 pieces, in a triangular shape and deep fry in clarified butter/Ghee)
1/2 litre milk
100g Khoya (also known as mawa- dried evaporated milk solids)
1/2 tsp Elaichi powder (Green cardamom)
50g Dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
1-2 silver vark (edible silver leaf) for garnish

INGREDIENTS FOR SUGAR SYRUP

100 g sugar
100 g water
1-2 Green cardamom

Mix the 3 ingredients above together and boil till it becomes thick in consistency & then keep aside.

METHOD

Take a pan & add milk and khoya together on low heat & let boil until it becomes dense becoming a rabri mixture.
Now take the fried pieces of Bread dip in sugar syrup, then put it in the rabri mixture & cook for 2 minutes. Take off the gas and sprinkle some Green cardamom powder and dry fruits on it .Dish out on a plate & garnish with silver vark on it .

Serve hot or chilled as desired!
