Let’s face it, there is really no need to spend money over clothes, when you don’t intend to ever wear them, instead, you can end up saving a lot of $$$ if you carefully picked your clothes. That doesn’t mean compromise and go for cheap quality clothes! With the tips below you are going to learn how to look great and save money!
1. Buy What You Will Wear- There’s no need to purchase clothes you are never going to use. So, if you never wear shorts for example, why invest in a pair of shorts? Even if the shorts are on sale, it is a waste of money to be investing in clothes you never intend to wear!
2. Buy What Suits You- You are your best judge and know what suits you; your body shape and size, then why buy an extra-large t-shirt for example when you wear a medium-sized one? Also, remember that what is trending currently in a fashion magazine isn’t necessarily the best for you. Always go with what you feel suits and compliments you!
3. Invest In Multi-Purpose Outfits- Buy clothes that go with different seasons, rather than investing in clothes for every season. For example a woollen sweater can only be worn in winter, however, a mixed fabric sweater can be worn in warmer weathers too.
4. Buy The Right Size, Right Now- Rather than investing in a smaller shirt, hoping you will burn off those extra calories, invest in your current size, because if for whatever reason you don’t manage to reach your goals, you will not only end up being disappointed but will also have wasted that shirt you purchased. By the time, even if you do manage to lose those calories, the piece of clothing may have gone out of fashion.
5. Play Safe & Hold On To The Basics- Blazers, black turtle necks, black dresses & suits, for example, are some of the basics to own. For example, you can never go wrong with a blazer as you can match it with a pair of trousers or a nice skirt. Remember some things never go out of fashion!
6. Quality Over Quantity- Remember, don’t purchase cheap clothing that won’t last even for a season in your wardrobe. It is a sheer waste of money and you actually end up spending more because you barely wore it. Buy quality clothing, that doesn’t necessarily mean investing only in branded, expensive wear. The quality of your clothing can be judged by the stitching, material and general appearance.
7. Accessories All The Way- Invest in some basic accessories such as scarves, ties, jewellery etc. However, make sure you don’t spend too much on investing in more than 1 accessory of the same type, after all, it is a waste of money, for example, to buy exactly the same 2 scarves.
