ECO Start/Stop system

An ECO Start/Stop system automatically shuts off the engine at stoplights and other idle situations, to save fuel and reduce emissions. As soon as the driver lifts off the brake, the engine instantly restarts, for immediate acceleration response. The ECO Start/Stop system can also be shut off by the driver at any time.

DYNAMIC SELECT

A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car’s character with the touch of a button. Four modes (ECO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+) alter the throttle response, shift points and steering effort, ECO Start/Stop and more. A fifth “Individual” mode allows you to create a mode of your own, even letting you set the transmission for purely manual shifting

Modern classic

Classic sports-car proportions and modern elements fuse to make the SLC a roadster for the road ahead. Expressively designed headlamps flank a diamond-block grille, and sculpted lower bodywork wraps around the body while hugging the road and embracing the large wheels. At the rear, the double-acting trunklid elegantly hides its seams from the profile view, while sleek LED taillamps leave a lasting impression.

Retractable hardtop

Transform your SLC from closed coupe to open roadster in under 20 seconds at speeds up to 40 km/h. With a single button on the console, the power hardtop folds into the trunk. The rear window pivots as the top lowers to help preserve cargo space with the top stowed.

Panoramic roof

A large panel of heat-reflecting polycarbonate offers an expansive view of the sky, so you can enjoy the sun and stars even with the top up.

Panoramic roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL

A Mercedes-Benz exclusive, this innovative evolution of the Panoramic roof concept alters the transparency of the roof when electrical current is applied. At its darkest setting, the thermal energy entering the cabin is less than a household light bulb. And even in its fully transparent mode, both UV and infrared rays are effectively blocked, helping keep the cabin cooler.

Active Brake Assist

Radar-based technology alerts you if you’re approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as the driver starts to brake, the system can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, the system can also initiate braking automatically from a wide range of driving speeds.

In-vehicle, one-touch calling features

Three buttons in your car can connect you to the help you need in a variety of situations. Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call can transmit your GPS-determined location and helpful vehicle information to trained experts who can help summon local emergency responders to your location. Mercedes-Benz Roadside Assistance can send help if you need a jump-start, tow or other help with a breakdown. And Mercedes-Benz Information Call can help answer questions about your vehicle, locate a dealer, and more.

ATTENTION ASSIST

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behaviour, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Blind Spot Assist

At most driving speeds, radar technology helps sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area. Blind Spot Assist then automatically alerts the driver via an illuminated red icon in the appropriate side mirror. The system also gives an audible warning if the driver activates a turn signal while a vehicle is detected in the blind spot.

Luxury

Power sport seats with memory

Contoured sport seats power-adjust for reach, front and rear cushion height, and recline. For long-term comfort and lower-back support, each seat offers a lumbar support that precisely adjusts in/out in and up/down. A memory system for each seat recalls three stored positions for the seat plus the power steering column and side mirrors for the driver.

THERMATIC automatic climate control

A standard dust and pollen filter helps keep particles as small as 5 micrometres from entering the cabin. In addition to fully automatic control of settings, the climate system offers convenient one-touch buttons for maximum cabin cooling and maximum windshield defogging.

THERMOTRONIC dual-zone automatic climate control

Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 5 micrometres from entering the cabin.

AIRSCARF

Extend your top-down driving enjoyment further into a cool evening or later into the season with the AIRSCARF neck-level heating system. Vents beneath each head restraint deliver warmed airflow to your neck, head and shoulders, like a virtual scarf. With individual 3-stage temperature controls and airflow automatically adjusted to your driving speed, AIRSCARF means you don’t have to put the top up just because the sun, or thermometer, has gone down.

7-inch colour in-dash display

Featuring a crisper, larger 7-inch colour display and a central controller on the console, the SLC gives you convenient control of audio, video, hands-free calling and optional navigation functions. Many features can also be accessed via the integrated steering-wheel controls. The screen is designed to stay vivid even on sunny, top-down days.

COMAND Online navigation

Using GPS technology and a fast hard drive to store maps and points of interest, this virtual copilot provides detailed driving directions with remarkable speed and a friendly voice. The COMAND system’s 8.0-inch high-resolution colour screen displays 3D maps with building profiles and Points of Interest.

LINGUATRONIC voice control

An advanced LINGUATRONIC voice control system lets you make easy use of the phone, audio and navigation by saying city names and your phonebook contacts normally, with no need to spell them out. You can even enter an address in one step, just like you’re reading it off an envelope. You can train it to learn how you speak, and it even screens out “ums” and “ahs” and understands “yeah” for “yes.”
