Chef Hemedi’s Drop Scones are also popularly known as Scotch Pancakes & are perfect to make for breakfast! It’s soft and delicious and tastes perfect with chocolate or maple syrup. DROP SCONES RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
500gms of self-raising flour
3 teaspoons of baking powder (levelled)
150gms of sugar
400ml of milk
150ml of vanilla yoghurt
3 eggs
2tbsp of vanilla essence
1tbsp of orange zest
Note:
Wash your hands with soap and warm water.
METHOD
STEP 1
Pick a clean bowl then weigh everything in it and whisk until you get a thick but dropping batter.
STEP 2
Place a frying pan on medium-high heat on a gas burner (Preferably a non-stick pan) and let it heat up for about two minutes then using a ladle or serving spoon, drop the batter and let it cook on the bottom. Once bubbles or cheese-like holes appear, turn to cook on the other side. It should sound like a drum for you to know it is cooked.
STEP 3
Place on a wire rack to cool then serve with maple syrup or chocolate sauce.
