Fruit & Nut & Candied Orange Chocolate- Double Chocolate Fun!
Who doesn’t love chocolate? This week we are sharing with you Double Chocolate Fun; 2 flavours of chocolate! That’s right 2 flavours that will make you fall head over heels! FRUIT & NUT CHOCOLATE
FRUIT & NUT CHOCOLATE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
2 blocks of compound chocolate (milk or dark)
handful of nuts of your choice (roughly chopped)
handful of raisins (roughly chopped)
1-2 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon desiccated coconut
METHOD
STEP 1
Roast your choice of nuts in a non-stick pan. Once roasted add in the raisins and desiccated coconut into the pan. Add honey to the dry fruit mixture and mix all till honey bubbles and slightly thickens.
STEP 2
Separately in a small microwavable bowl melt the chocolate blocks in microwave for a minute or so.
STEP 3
Butter the plate and pour some of the melted chocolate & with a spoon lightly spread the chocolate onto the plate then add the honeyed nuts over the chocolate and spread evenly. Now pour the remaining chocolate onto nuts and spread.
STEP 4
Refrigerate for 30-40 minutes. Then with a knife break the chocolate roughly into pieces & enjoy!
CANDIED ORANGE CHOCOLATE
CANDIED ORANGE CHOCOLATE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
2 blocks of compound chocolate (milk or dark)
1 orange peeled, deseeded & cut into small pieces
2-3 tablespoon sugar
handful of almonds (roughly chopped)
1 tablespoon desiccated coconut
1 tablespoon zest of orange
METHOD
STEP 1
Roast the chopped almonds in a non-stick pan then remove. In the same pan, squeeze the pieces of orange with your hands, add sugar & on low heat keep stirring the mixture till it thickens (cook with the pulp).
STEP 2
Now to the thickened orange mixture, add in the roasted almonds & desiccated coconut & zest and mix all. Separately in a small microwavable bowl melt the chocolate blocks in microwave for a minute or so.
STEP 3
Butter the plate and pour some of the melted chocolate & with a spoon lightly spread the chocolate onto the plate then add the thickened orange and nutty chunks over the chocolate and spread. Now pour the remaining chocolate on top and spread.
STEP 4
Refrigerate for 30-40 minutes. Then with a knife break the chocolate roughly into pieces & enjoy!
Tip: (Optional) To garnish the chocolate with desiccated coconut, do so before refrigerating!
