Pauline’s Message: ‘Calm Yourself The Storm Will Pass’
Many a time, I find myself so worried about so many issues around me. I find myself restless and not able to make decisions without panic attacks and anxieties. My friends sometimes blame me for being too sensitive and wanting to solve everything around me that is going wrong. But that’s just me, I hate injustices, I hate seeing people suffering from pain as pain just makes me so uncomfortable and I do what it takes to make the world around me a better place. But one of the lessons I have learnt is to take a break when I feel tired, to breathe and find more strength to keep going.
Since the outbreak of Covid-19 in the country, everyone around me has been panicking. I live in Kibera slums where the majority of my neighbours depend on their daily jobs to survive. I know teenagers who depend on sanitary towels’ donations from school to survive each month and I know children who depend on school food to survive daily. All these thoughts have not brought me any peace.
I have spent sleepless nights to try and find solutions, but instead have felt overwhelmed, so I decided to use the
‘Quarantine’ moments to search deep within and did some breathing therapy & after 45 minutes of long Kriya, the tensions went down and a voice spoke to my heart calmly and reminded me that storms pass away when we remain calm.
I am a Humanitarian, I cannot stay at home forever when a part of me is in pain, but I have to solve what I can, to spread love and positive energy always. I have learnt to be intentional in what message I pass to the universe, I have learnt to choose peace and above all be grateful for every moment I breathe.
Sending love to everyone around the world, the world needs you, choose ‘you’ always!
