Afrojack does it all—a DJ, producer, songwriter, and pop star—roles that have come to define the modern EDM movement. Afrojack (real name: Nick van de Wall) was born and raised in the suburbs of Dutch city Rotterdam. He first got noticed by uploading mixes to mentor Laidback Luke’s online forum, where he crafted and perfected his sound. In 2010, Afrojack released “Take Over Control,” one of the year’s premier club bangers. His skyrocketing popularity has lead to remix opportunities for Madonna and Lady Gaga as well as headliner status on the dance festival circuit.
