About The Author: Suleiman Omar

Imam Omar Suleiman is a world-renowned scholar and theologically driven activist for human rights. He is the Founder and President of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and serves as an adjunct professor of Islamic Studies in the Graduate Liberal Studies program at Southern Methodist University. Additionally, he is the Resident Scholar at Valley Ranch Islamic Center and Co-Chair Emeritus of Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square. Imam Suleiman holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelors in Accounting, a Bachelors in Islamic Law, a Masters in Islamic Finance, and a Masters in Political History. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Islamic Thought and Civilization from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. Recognised by CNN as one of 25 Muslim American changemakers and included in The Muslim 500, he has also been honoured by the Antiracist Research and Policy Center at American University and Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives. Born and raised in New Orleans, Imam Suleiman now resides in Dallas with his wife and three children.
